Jacob Mitchell, Born 1997 in Shreveport, Louisiana, is an American photographic artist currently residing in New Orleans. He has exhibited in Louisiana Contemporary at Ogden Museum of Southern Art in 2020, as well as the following years of 2021-’23. At the beginning of 2024 Jacob had work showcased at the 37th Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition. His most recent achievements include creating a commissioned photo for The New Yorker, being a part of “NO DEAD ARTISTS” exhibition at Ferrara Showman Gallery, & a part of an upcoming exhibition titled “Across Common Grounds” at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.
What does the happy space in your mind look like?
The happy place in my mind looks like a grassy plain with all sorts of wildflowers near a body of water surrounded by the people and music I love.
What’re are your favorite foods?
Biscuits & gravy with a fruit bowl for breakfast, Muffaletta with some fried okra for lunch, red beans & rice, side of potato salad for dinner
